We have just come back from a wonderful holiday touring France.

Having stayed in several hotels, some of which belonged to a well known chain, we were very impressed by one small privately run hotel.  On leaving the latter hotel there were many thanks and "Au revoirs", hugs and kisses on both sides and the hotel owners gave us a lovely gift of a bottle of liquer and chocolates.  We said how great they had been and one of them responded with "it’s because we love our guests!"

What a difference from the standard treatment we had received in the chain hotels!  We know which we prefer and will recommend to others.

Dropbox: Aren’t you just fed up of emailing files to yourself?

Great tools can make your life so much easier if  you let them.

If you’re fed up of emailing files across to yourself, and worrying about having everything backed up on your laptop – Dropbox is a lifechanging  tool!

It’s free and it’s just so brilliant, I had to tell you about it!

We’ve  recently started using it here at Internet Marketing Manchester and now don’t know how we ever did without it!

It means you can sign into your dropbox account from your iphone, ipad, lap top or desktop and reach all of your files!

It’s so easy to use, once you’ve installed it, it appears like magic in your PC folder structure.  We copied all our documents into it and now we just save all our work into there.

It’s GREAT!

WordPress is an amazing tool and it is very Google friendly as well!  Even so, how to add the Google Analytics code to WordPress is just one of those things you will need to know…

After you have completed setting up your Google Analytics account, you might well be wondering where to paste the code in WordPress?

If so, then please read on…

Copy the Tracking ID code from Google Analytics>Admin>Tracking Code, then go to WordPress Dashboard>Settings>Google Analytics and paste the Tracking ID into the Account Id box, Update.

OR

To paste Google Analytics code on a WordPress site sign into WP-Admin>Appearance>Editor>Right-hand Menu: Templates>Header.php Paste code just before the (closing) tag.

Once this has been done you can add the Google Analytics Dashboard plugin and drag the data box up to the top right-hand corner of your dashboard so you can see the data on your WordPress dashboard at a glance!

Reading the tracking reports should be an enormous help to you by showing you where your traffic is coming from, know how people are behaving when they find your site, etc.  Using Google Analytics information you will be able to decide what you need to do to improve the performance of your website and bring even more traffic!

SEO vs PPC?


We all know that the internet cannot be ignored as part of your business marketing strategy, but as well as there being millions of potential customers out there, there are also an awful lot of competitors!

Having your own website isn’t enough , you must take additional steps to enable the online community to find and access your website.   You must invest in marketing your website.  SEO and PPC are two options which will enable you to get a piece of the Search Engine traffic.

1. SEO (Search Engine Optimization)

Indications are that 60% – 70% of internet users are using the Google search engine to find websites which match their requirements. SEO is a method used to ensure that the searchers will find your website ranking among the top results for a particular search.

To optimise your site for search engines, you will have to continually work on building your website links from other web site pages.

By using SEO, you don’t need to pay for the clicks but it will require you to spend a great deal of time doing research to reach and then convert your target audience.
